Kiss announced last week that its upcoming tour will be its last. The Farewell Tour is scheduled to kick off on March 11 in Phoenix (Arizona, not City).
Ted Nugent and a rip-off Skid Row will open for Kiss on the tour. Former front-man for Skid Row, Sebastian Bach, is not with the band on the tour. He is working on his solo project. John Solinger will take vocals for Skid Row for the time being.
The original members of Kiss, namely Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley, first got together in 1973 and (after a series of lineup changes) reformed for a 1996-97 worldwide reunion tour.
Alive IV is scheduled to be released March 28. According to the kissonline.com Web site, the track listing includes “Psycho Circus,” “Shout It Out Loud,” “Deuce,” “Heaven’s On Fire,” “Into The Void,” “Firehouse,” “Do You Love Me,” “Let Me Go Rock & Roll,” “I Love It Loud,” “Lick It Up,” “100,000 Years,” “Love Gun,” “Black Diamond,” “Beth,” and “Rock And Roll All Nite.”
The last hoorah rolls into Atlanta at the Phillips Arena on April 15.
C.C. DeVille and Poison have made up - again- and are looking to record and tour soon.
DeVille parted company with his original band two weeks ago when Poison singer Bret Michaels refused to allow Samantha 7, DeVille’s side project band, to open the pending tour.
Michaels also complained that DeVille had not been writing any new material with Poison and accused the guitarist of using Poison solely to promote his other band.
Things seem to be fine now, and the tour plans are on again. Cinderella, Slaughter, and Dokken already confirmed for the tour.
The Samantha 7 CD is scheduled to be released by Sony on May 2. The Poison tour is expected to kick off in June.
Rapper Big Punisher suffered a heart attack and was pronounced dead last Monday afternoon at the age of 28.
He is currently heard on Jennifer Lopez’ “Feelin’ So Good” single. I’d have a heart attack too if I was in a Jennifer Lopez video.
Ricky Martin visited the White House on February 1 for a tour and a chat with President Clinton and Deputy Chief Of Staff Maria Echaveste.
His visit concerned the Navy bombing exercises over the Puerto Rican island of Vieques, also known as La Isla Nena, or the “Baby Island.”
Maybe Martin can persuade Clinton to stop the exercises with the same persuasion that I believe landed Martin a recording contract in the first place.
Clinton seems to be a sucker for that kind of persuasion. Ok well, that’s all for this week, see you next time.
