Mike is another player who originally signed with the Cougars last year, but a shortage of transferable hours kept him from entering school. According to assistant coach Robert Moore, Collier is a player reminiscent of Ike Camon from a few years ago. He is multi-talented and should make an immediate impact for the Cougars.
JUCO: Collier played two seasons at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, FL, where he was a standout player for coach Chip Sines. As a sophomore, he averaged 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Lancers while helping them to an 18-9 record.
High School: Collier is a 1995 graduate of Booker High School in Sarasota, FL, where he lettered four years for coach Ricky Thomas and the Tornadoes. He was named Sarasota County Athlete of the Year after averaging 24 points a game in his senior year.
Personal: Mike is the son of Lynne and Terry Crenshaw and has three brothers and sisters. He is a criminal justice major and loves to play video games in his free time. He lists D.M.X. as his favorite group, and Michael Jordan as his favorite basketball player.
